My name is JERRY and I am in the process of doing a engine swap,i have a 2003 DODGE RAM 1500 SLT and it had a 4.7 engine,i have a 2007 5.7 hemi out of a csler 300,i have the computers and the shifter also the key swtich with key ,key swtich will not work,this was a complete drop out even has driveshaft,i am having troble lining up the motor mounts,i am using the 300 motor mounts or is trying to use them,Do I need to change motor mounts if so what kind the motor mounts from the 4.7 will not fit or won’t fit on passenger side,what kind of motor mounts do I need and will I have to get the truck computers reflashed or reprogramed,any help will be grea appreaciated,should have went back with another 4.7,less headaches and a lots more money in my pocket. The hemi had15k miles on it.thank you for your time.JERRY ALEXANDER

You might try to source some motor mounts for the same year truck with a 5.7. It may be that for the 300 the block or mounting holes are just different and the only way to make it work is to fabricate something. As for the computer the one that came with the new engine should work as long as you provide it the right powers and grounds. DId you get the whole wiring harness and fuse box as well?
