that is a good one it kinda sounds like a vacuum leak i would start there is there any check engine lights of course vacuum should do it no matter in or out if gear it might be a clogged fuel filter.

I would start buy checking your fuel pressure. I know you said the pump was just rebuilt but this sounds like a lack of fuel pressure .

how many miles on vehicle? there is no check engine light? inspect your vacuum hose’s, when you replaced fuel pump, did you inspect the tank for rust or crap in the tank. that could plug pick-up screen?? rust in tank will plug every thing up.. g’luck

Derick82: When I first started reading your symptoms I thought it may be moisture in the distributor or somewhere in the ignition system, I had exactly the same symptoms when my 90 Prelude was moisture soaked in a snow storm. But when I then read that you recently had service done on the fuel system, then I started thinking along the lines of 619DioFan. Check the fuel pressure at the rail.

I recommend you start by pulling any codes that you have, you will not be able to hook a regular scanner to it but you can actually jump 2 terminals in the DLC connector to get the codes, here is a link.

                http://www.theimportkiller.com/forums/i … opic=420.0

Once you have the code(s) you will have a place to start rather than flying blind and just replacing parts.

                Good luck.

Have you checked the throttle position sensor? Put a voltmeter on it and look over a smooth change as you vary the throttle plate position.

Pulled a code 41 from the service engine light. I have read a few different meanings for this code depending on year. One says it is a MEM-CAL error, another says crank position error. I have not been able to test fuel pressure yet, as I have not had the money to rent a fuel pressure test kit from the autoparts store.

Pre 1995 it shows a code 41 as a cam sensor circuit fault, ignition control circuit fault

well, if it can’t correlate between the cam and the crank to set the timing, you aren’t going to get any acceleration!

You need to check the wiring that runs along the front ( belts and pulleys ) side of the engine, the crank sensor wiring is relatively exposed and can get damaged on these motors. You’ll want to fully inspect it before just throwing a sensor at it. There’s an outside chance that the wires have been damaged and have broken the signal to the computer. The sensor is located behind the harmonic balancer, so you would have to pull that in order to gain access to the sensor itself.

Honestly, they are no fun to get at and fix, but if you are getting a code 41 on this motor, that’s the first place I’d be checking. If you are going to tackle this, give yourself at least 1 full day to monkey with it, with a potential for 2 if things are difficult to get at or if the motor is grimy.

Since you have the code 41 to go on how about getting the service procedure for that code and going through the troubleshooting for that code to see what you come up with.
