      Hi everyone,

I have finally given up reading and doing. I need some more ideas. There is a quite obnoxious squeal coming from the engine 1) ONLY once the engine is warmed up, and 2) dissapears under engine load.

The belt is new (NAPA), also, new tensioner and new harmonic balancer. This issue all started about 300 miles after changing the manifold gaskets on the car (2004 Chevy Impala 3.8L).

Also, after driving it for about 1/2 hour to warm it up, I took the belt off, and the squeal was still present (hence the new harmonic balancer, but it is still there)

What else should I look at? My brother and I took his stethascope and checked throughout the engine block/hoses (even pulleys) and were unable to pinpoint where the squeal is coming from as we couldn’t hear a squealing through the stethascope.

Any ideas would be appreciated, it’s still a decent car (and finally paid off)

You didn’t happen to snap a vac line at the back of intake or at the throttle body did ya?

I will look into that in more detail. I hadn’t seen any, but didn’t look to far into that. The current update as stands though was that the flywheel is actually slightly bent. I have it in the shop to be worked on as I don’t have the tools to fix it.

          Thanks for the new direction!
