so I have a car in my garage I have been working on. It sat for about 3 months due to an addition to our family. I finally got into the garage and started it. Then started to work on it. It started but wasn’t happy about it.

Now about 3 months later, all I have to do is blow out the heater core and refill the coolant and I can start it again. (I did an oil change today and put in 4 quarts of transmission fluid ((starting point as sometimes they take 5 after a pan drop, sometimes 6 to 6.5)) as I just put in new cooling lines for the transmission and a new radiator and dropped the pan on the transmission for a new filter and shift kit as well).

My question is, should I pull all the plugs (going to change the plugs out as well) and put some mystery oil or fogging oil down the cylinders before I start it. I know I started it about 3 or 4 months ago, but I don’t want to start it with the cylinder walls dry (again maybe). Or does the oil stay on the walls for awhile?

Its a 2008 Buick lacrosse with a 3800 series 3 engine in it.

I’ve seen engines that have sat for years and were fired up with little to no issue(s).
Considering it has been run (relatively) recently, I wouldn’t be concerned.
But if it gives you peace of mind, you can fog a little oil into each cylinder.

Thanks! I just didn’t want to score the cylinder walls is all.
