      i have a 1990 jeep wrangler with the 2.5l inline four engine. It has had a noise for at least 4 years now. it sounds like a diesel engine almost. It will make the noise when its warmed up. itll be quieter before i drive if i let it warm up. Ive put in some stp oil stuff that moves like molasses but it still has this noise.

      any ideas?

        THEM 2.5 ENGINES WERE WELL NONE FOR THE ROCKERS MAKING A LOT OF NOISE MAY NEED TO BE SET.

          Ill have to check the torque on them one of these days.could a lifter also cause this?
