Engine light on with codes P0770 and P0773

Hi everyone, I have a 2001 Toyota Camry 4 cylinders Automatic transmission. Recently my check engine light turn on with 2 codes:
P0770 Shift solenoid “E” malfunction – SSV DSL
P0773 Shift solenoid “E” electrical malfunction-SSV DLS
I did some search and see that the shift solenoid reside inside the transmission pan. I’m planning on buying the parts and replace it myself but I’m not sure that is the right problem that need to be fixed.
Would you guys give me some advice? Thank you all.

according to the p0770 it is for shift solenoids.But it could
also mean transmission failure.Here are some links to help.

p0773- is for shift solenoid E which controls torque converter.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I believe your trans is shot.

Yes, you can’t rule out a transmission issue. You might want to do the test for the solenoids before you replace them only to find that you actually need a transmission. Spending a little time with diagnosis can save you time and money.
