Hi mates. I have a piece of shit 1990 holden vn commodore and i recently put a different engine in it and converted it to manual. The engine and gearbox came out of the same model car. As soon as i start it the engine light comes on and stays on. I have tried fuckin everything to get rid of it. Any ideas? Also the oil light very rarely comes on and as soon as i turn the car on and off it goes away…

Did you swap the harness? If not then that’s probably why. I’ve done an auto to 5-speed swap and had to switch over the harness so I could get my check engine light to turn off. Did you change the engine with the stock engine or is it a completely different engine from the stock engine? If you replaced it with the same engine you shouldn’t have a problem unless you forgot a connector or sensor. The transmission swap is probably where your light is coming from. Just post the codes.
