Engine knock

My car gave me an answer very loud and very clear…… The engine blew. I found part of one of my wrist pins on the road afterwards and lots of oil on the ground.

yup…. i just got the car on the road on Friday too…….

Now…. Should I replace the engine which would be about $1000 after i get a used engine and put a new timing chain on it along with water pump and any related gaskets and fluids and belts for it. Or should I sell it and get something else?

To be honest if the rest of the car is in rough shape sell it.

Yes I had just put oil in it (when it was off) and checked it then. I was driving down the road and the knock continued so I pulled over (this time with the engine running) to check it and after i put the dipstick back in the car it stalled. I started it
