engine cleaner

Hello –

Is there a product that will clean the engine parts – valve covers, coolant pipes, fuel injector rails down to the metal. Over time the metal parts build up a corrosive barrier that resembles lime or calcium. If I try degreaser it won’t scrub off.
This issue may be from the salt in the winter but anyone know what chemicals will loosen this up?

You may have rust. Brake clean is always pretty good and evaporates off. Carb clean is pretty heavy degreaser but is aggressive on seals etc. Best of luck.

I was thinking more on the lines of Oxalic acid such as “rust remover”. I can’t imagine brake parts cleaner removing this
