having a major problem with a 2008 VW Rabbit failed emission because of an evap problem found the problem was a evap purge valve NOW having problem getting the car to be in readiness mode drove car as of tonight 275 miles and still getting that the evap system has not completed test There now are NO check engine light NO trouble codes NO pending codes BUT will not pass emission testing because the car saying it emission monitors in the car has NOT completed test
This has been going on for a week now and I am fead up with the thing does any one KNOW of a way to beat the system been reading on line there is a way around this and get the ECM to be show ready but no one will tell me how
I have done all the drive cycles and still can’t get this to check off as done

        VW drive cycle

Info on ambient temp for EVAP test

If the drive cycle doesn’t work for you, you can use Ross-Tech’s VAG-COM to force it through the readiness tests.

That is stupid. Where do you live? Here they allow one not ready, either evap or catalyst. I guess the only thing you can do is drive it normally, and check the monitors regularly with a scan tool to see at this point.
