      Hi

      I have a Audi A3 1.6 Sport 2000yr (petrol)
      Every time i drive my car its fine no smoke no noises drives perfectly. but when i took it for its yearly MOT test (which is mandatory in the UK) it failed. in fact when they put the emissions thing up the exhaust to check its emissions it filled the garage up with smoke and the mechanics had to leave

      It gave the following readings
      1- exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content at idle excessive {7.3.D.4}
      2-exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive {7.3.D.3}
      3-exhaust emissions hydrocarbons content after 2nd fast idle excessive {7.3.D.3}
      4-exhaust emissions lambda sensor reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits {7.3.D.3

      I put a cheap Cat on last year, its recently had a new MAF sensor, a new Lambda sensor, oil change and filter plus a new fuel filter and spark plugs.

      I asked the people in the garage what was wrong with it as its never smoked before (they said not sure mate) and still doesn’t smoke unless its having its Emissions tested,
      I don’t have to top up the engine with oil at all so its not burning oil, i just cant figure out whats wrong with it.

      I should mention tho’ that i only drive short distances and average around 4000 miles a year, I took the car for a long drive before i took it for its test to get the Cat hot and it still failed.

      I’ve spent a fortune on the car, New wheel new lights, disc around new pads new suspension even had all the windows tinted.

      I’m stuck and do not know what to do. Please please could someone help me.

          Thanks buddy.

          Does the water de-carbonization really work as i’ve seen a lot of videos on using water to decarbonizing the engine, via spraying water through the carb. but there are also a lot of people saying it would cause hydro-lock? and now im not sure if it works.

          in the mean time i’ve purchased a Audi a3 1.9tdi to get me around until i can get it fixed.

          Thank you so much for helping, especially these days when there are so many people out there to make a few bucks instead of helping a fellow man.

            Your most welcome. The water decarb does clean the combustion chamber and pistons.
            The trick to the cleaning is to not over add the water. I like using chemical cleaners induced
            in the intake or in a vacuum line followed up by a in the tank cleaner .
