I was trying to take the rotor retainer screw on my CRV and I was up the creek really quick.

I couldn’t loosen it by impact screwdriver. I could try the punch and hammer method but that will take a long time. Eric’s video shows an alternative with air impact hammer and punch. I don’t have a compressor nor the air impact hammer and punch. I was wondering what may be the electrical tool equivalent of air impact hammer. I am a beginner at diy stuff so wanted to explore my options.

      Any insight will be appreciated.

      Sincerely

Only electrical tool that comes to mind is a hammer drill. They use them to drill concrete. Has a pretty high vibration while drilling. May or may not be able to get the screws out with one. Might be better off just drilling out the screws if a hammer drill doesn’t do it. You can try heating around the screw with a torch first before you go to extract it, maybe the heat will break loose the bond.

If you plan on doing more repair work later, might want to look into buying a good compressor and some air tools. Save yourself a ton of headaches once you have them.

They make electrical impact wrenches and I see some of the top mechanics on youtube using them. On the other hand, for a few dollars you could have a shop pull the screws, put the wheels back on and then you drive home to continue the project.

The best DIY way to get them off is either using the hammer and punch or drill them out with a left handed drill bit There aren’t really any electrical equivalents most electric air hammers are very bulky and designed for breaking concrete etc
