I’ll admit that I was a little bias with this one but it’s always nice to use a tool that’s well made and does what it’s suppose to as well as this one does. What are your thoughts on it?

I have found the Eastwood products to be very good and this flare tool also seems excellent.

However, it is set up for bench work rather than “on-vehicle” or “in-place” work.

I recently had to replace both corroded steel rear brake lines from under hood to rear drum slaves. I used copper nickle tubing which was expensive but worked wonderfully.

The first flare was bench work, but then I placed the line along its path, and did the final flare at the fitting under the hood. I don’t think the Eastwood product would be very versatile for than final under hood flare. I got by with the el-cheapo flare

        tool.

Thanks, I loved the tool review. The 007 Flare Tool was one that I lusted for and resolved to either buy or rent when I needed to do extensive brake line replacement on one of my old cars. The Eastwood tool is very similar and a bit less expensive.

You’re correct that it wouldn’t work for lines that you had to do on the car. For that work you might be stuck using the other tool I showed in the video.

            Thanks for your input.

I got this tool a couple years ago and agree, it is a breath of fresh air if you’ve ever tried to use the old style one. Eastwood also makes a hydraulic version of this tool that works for on-vehicle flares.

Yea, that would be cool. Sounds expensive though.

You say the tool in the red case is 70 to 80% effective. In my hands it is 20% effective.

Yea for me too, but I wanted to be as kind as possible.

Okay, maybe not kind but that makes me feel better.
