Long time watcher of both channels and first time poster.

I recently installed a wired hands free microphone. A few days after the install my a pillar interior panal would not stay attached. I can push it back on and feel the retainers go in theirs holes but I feel no indication of a pop in/snap in sensation.
What could I be missing here? Am I supposed to install them in another way?

      Regards,

Without specifics on the vehicle I can only say that some vehicles require the clips be replaced if the A-Pillar is removed or the clips installed in the pillar first before putting the cover on.

Hmm okay. It’s a 2000 Honda accord sedan. Putting the retainers in and then trying to “slip” the panal on is something I’ve considered but that seems like a tricky maneuver.

Btw thanks for the reply BigDanL

You shouldn’t have to do it that way. Once it’s installed into the dash and the clips are lined up with their holes a couple of firm whacks with the hand should seat it properly. Post a picture or 2 and I might be able to guide you through it a bit more thoroughly.

No need for pictures because we are on the same page. Only problem is it keeps falling down. After the install it was okay for a month. Now, it wont stay up for more than a few minutes. Plenty of ‘line up and whacks’ have been given to this point. I even replaced one retainer. Maybe I need new retainers? Its just hard to believe that after one removal.

Often times the clips become compressed after they have been on and off a few times. Try spreading them out just a little bit and see if that helps.

Havn’t had the opportunity to try compression. Should I here a *snap* in to place?
