Because of an earlier post about drain plugs. I thought it a good idea to tell you about a tip you can try as last resort. If the drain plug hex or square is damaged. You can use a spline bit that is slightly bigger. Over at the bench grinder make a small taper on the end of the ‘star’. using straight blows. Gently knock it in to the plug. When you are doing this the force will help release the plug anyway. Once you reach the bottom of the plug, use the air hammer nut removal tool to get the plug out. Always renew the plug!

Another way to remove any drain or filler plugs which may be rounded either internally or externally is by using a cold chisel and hammer. All you need to do is tap the end of the plug anticlockwise and it should begin to loosen.
🙂 If needed I could make a video.
