Got a PO505 error, infamous for Maximas. Burned out IACV and ECM.
I’ve replaced both. Tried to start. No go. Found out that I have to have the computer reprogrammed to align with the ignition keys with chips. Sigh.
So, if I hook up the old ECM, will it burn out the new IACV? Or is it the IACV that burns out the ECM.
My thought is, I could just cable in the old computer, drive it to dealer, have it reprogrammed.
If the ECM will burn out the new IACV though… then I need to make a couple trips… take out the ECM. Have it reprogrammed to the keys. Go home, put the ecm in. Drive back down to the dealers and have them reprogram the entire ECM to align with car.
I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to make the two trips. But thought I’d ask. Don’t want to risk burning out another IACV.
Thanks for any informed/experienced insights. Apparently, Maxima is notorious and peculiar in this behavior.
