Try turning the key on, but don’t crank the engine, wait a few seconds for the fuel pump to stop running, then turn the key off. Repeat this process say three times or so before starting the car, and see if it starts any easier.

There is a valve in the fuel pump which is supposed to keep pressure when the engine is off. If that valve is leaking, then when the engine sits for a period of time, the pressure in the fuel system bleed off. Turning the key on and off a few times causes the fuel pump to run through it’s priming cycle several times, giving it the opportunity to refill the fuel lines and rail with fuel, and pressurize it.

One of your issues could be what Tomh mentioned this happens when the pump is old or has been run low on fuel for a bit the more common and more likely issue is your fuel pressure regulator is leaking internally. This means not only is it not holding pressure but it is causing extra fuel to bleed back into the intake system which can cause flooding and a hard start.
