Hello.
I own a ford focus mark 1 all the way from europe, but I sincerely haven’t found any honest answers about doing this. My car has a smaller engine compared to the beasts you have over there, just a 1.6, I have it in my family since new. So my question is, this car has done nearly 130k kilometers, which in miles it is 81k, and I was always wondering, shall I clean the map sensor which is located at the intake manifold of the car. I have asked here and there, people tell me don’t even bother you are going to damage it, or that it won’t make any difference and some also tell me to clean it cause it is going to fix some issues (like unstable idle sometimes and sometimes the car seems to be burning more fuel than usual). This year this car is becoming 12 years old so have in consideration the age as well. No engine lights or anything, I have cleaned the accelerator butterfly once like 30k kilometers before but since then I haven’t done anything to it, just basic servicing (changing filters etc).
Looking forward for your replies!
