distributor problem

      have a 1997 Nissan pickup 2.4 liter. have replace distributor 3 time in 2016 anyone know what would cause distributor to burn out.

        If your using aftermarket dizzy that could be the problem.

          +1 on the OEM, there are a lot of bad aftermarket distributors out there.

          How is it burning out? Are you getting a DTC after it fails? Did they all fail in about the same interval?

          Assuming you just lost spark, I’m wondering if one of the distributor inputs (cam position sensor, etc) has a problem in the component or the harness. I’m assuming you have replaced things on the output side (plugs, wires). Also, I’m not sure if the power transistor is internal or external to the distributor, if it is external, that could be causing issues. You could also use a spark tester and make sure the output spark is within spec.

          Seems like something systemic or you have really bad luck.
