Differential fluid change in 2006 ridgeline.

Is it necessary to drive the truck forward and back in the driveway a few times after the initial fill of the vtm fluid and then top it off? Also I plan on using an oil pumping device that I use to change the gear oil on the lower unit of my outboard. Will the gear oil residue (very little) cause any problems if I use it to replace the hypoid oil in the transfer case? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

It does seem that the back and fourth method is necessary.
Put the first pump or two in a pan to purge any boat oil and
you should be good to go.
