I’ve got a question about caliper guide pins. As most anyone who’s done a brake service has noticed, the pins are different. What is the purpose of the difference? If the leading pin, and the trailing pin, were to get mixed up with one another, on the shop floor, for example. How would a guy know which went where? What could result if they were accidentally switched?

Hopefully only one side was done at a time and the other side
can act as a reference. If the pins did get mixed up It should
still work. If brake problems start. Then go in and swap the pins.
different pins are for dampening affect and quietness.
