Gud day, hoping to find a solution here to my td27 diesel engine.
Whenever you start the engine in cold condition, its just fires up right away.
But after running for lets say 8mins or more, and you switch off the engine.
You will have a very hard time to start it again, since the starter will just keep on cranking fast(good batt and starter),
But then, engine just wont fire up that easily this time.
It will take you roughly 30 secs or more before the engine will start.
Hope to hear from you thnks

Whats the year, make model and engine size? have you changed
the fuel filter and check it for water? Has the fuel been sitting
        for a while?

I believe it doesnt even have a check engine light because it doesnt have computer box.as i mention earlier, its a manual engine. its not fuel injected also such as crdi. Im begining to suspect a ring problem because oil tends to become thinner as engine warms up, thus reducing compression resulting in hard starting. The nxt morning, when engine is cold, it become easy to start again,

If it were a ring problem the engine would run rough
or mis all the time. Try and spray some starting fluid
next time to see if it helps the start. Are the glow plugs
                coming on?

Look under the drivers side dash for a 16 pin connector.
I find it hard to believe that a 2004 is not computer controlled.
does it have the port in the picture.
