      hello friends I did a diagnostic test and the results were not good.
      On the fuel trim short term the reading was -0.8 on the long term fuel it was -14.0
      the car temperature was at 183° when I did the first test second test on the fuel trim
      the reading for the short term was -10.0 long-term -17.1 there was a problem going on.
      And temperature at the second reading was 180°.
      Chevy Malibu 2001 3.1 v6 87,000 miles.

        High negative fuel trim corrections can be caused by MAF sensor problems, high fuel pressure, leaking fuel pressure regulator diaphragm, faulty evaporative emissions components, leaking injectors, defective O2 sensors, exhaust leaks/pinholes before the O2 sensor, coolant temp sensor problems, and base engine issues such as low compression and incorrect camshaft timing.

          Try cleaning the MAF sensor with the appropriate cleaner.
          Your subtracting fuel. check your ignition system.
