Dash lights prolbem

Hi I recently traded for a 04 silverado dont know alot about the old truck but the prolbem i am haveing is all the dash lights stay on and drain the battery will not turn off it does have a aftermarket cd player in it looks to be installed correctly could it be a prolbem from the install? Also the sensor on top of dash for day time running lights is not in place its pushed down in dash could that be the issue? Any help will be appreciated
