      Greetings,

I am a novice DIYer working on a 1987 BMW 325i convertible. While removing the front passenger side lower control arm bushing with a hack saw, I managed to put a decent gouge in the control arm where the bushing attaches. The gouge is about 1mm deep, 1/2 in wide and 1 in long.

My question is, should I replace the whole control arm or is this an insignificant amount of damage and I shouldn’t worry about it?

      Thanks for reading,

      Shakey

I’d put that one back together as is. It should be fine.

Thanks for the replies. I was kinda leaning toward just putting it back together. I just don’t have an eye for that sort of thing yet.

                Thanks again,

                Shakey
