I have a 2003 Honda Accord LX with almost 300k miles on it. I am having to replace the CV Driveshaft on the left side of the car as it’s worn out. While looking on line for a replacement part, I find the prices range from $69.00 for Advance Auto Parts to $475.00 for a brand new OEM Honda part. The remanufactured ones from a Honda supplier are about half the price of a new one.
Now I don’t mind spending money on an OEM part if I need to, but $400+ makes my wallet hurt! I am also scared to try and buy a $69.00 part as I don’t want to have to end up doing the job twice and finally having to go out and buy a more expensive one in the end.
If you have replaced your CV driveshaft and used the cheaper parts, what are the ups and downs and have you had any issues with the parts?
Thanks
