crankshaft position sensor

hello I have a Chevy Malibu LS 3.1 v6 and the problem that I’m having
SMP Engine Crankshaft Position Sensor where is that located
and do I have to bring it to the dealer to have it reset
once I put the new one in thank you

Depending on the year (some years had 2 sensors) it’s on the rear of the block between the block and transmission. A real bitch to replace.

where it is located it right underneath the wires. what looks like fun
