My van has been starting with ‘delayed crank’ according to the mechanic that worked on it last week. But, he didn’t even mention anything. It always did start and he was working on steering gear issues.
I didn’t really notice anything until yesterday morning. It took forever to finally start. Today I tried 4 or 5 times and it would crank but not start. Had to call someone for a ride. While I was waiting I tried and it finally started. Turned it off and started it about three times in a row ok. Then when I got back home it started and I was able to drop it off to be looked at tomorrow.
What are the most common causes for crank/no start and delayed crank? Crossing my fingers it’s something cheap, have a feeling it’s probably not

Possibly fuel related….fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, pressure regulator. Honestly hard to say more than that without more details and investigation from you. Hope this at least gives you an idea of what you may be looking at repair wise
I replaced the fuel pump this past spring. If it is that, at least the part is under warranty still, I think.
It just seems like I’m having way too many problems for a van with less than 60,000 miles.
Wasn’t bad before this year. Replaced the fuel pump earlier in the year. Just replaced all the steering gear last week.
What make model year and engine are we talking about? 🙂
