I have a 1996 Nissan 240sx with the stock ka24de and i have been having a crank no start issue. I have spark at the plugs, good fuel pressure and good compression. The only thing remains is timing. How would I go about double checking the timing chain since the chain doesnt have the same markings as the fsm?

So I finally go back in town today from a work trip and my obdii scanner came in. it is only pulling two codes: p100(maf) and p110(intake air temperature sensor). I charged it up and tried cranking it over. (battery was disconnect for weeek). I then rechecked the codes, and it showed the same codes. I have a feeling that there is a problem with the wiring since both those sensor are right next to each other and have been moved around a lot while trying to figure out why it isnt starting.
and Eric, I have read through that article several times and still havent found anything to make it start up.
Try unplugging the MAF sensor and see if it starts.
You’re correct in that both those sensors are likely in the same harness. Because of that, you might also want to do a visual inspection of that harness to make sure there isn’t any damage.
Eric, I tried starting it with the MAF unplugged, no luck. the wires look fine and i tested the wires they were correct. I cleared the code and tried stating it again with it plugged in and no code. I went ahead and tested the cam position sensor. it pulsed the 5 volt signal at the correct times on both 1 and 180. any other ideas from anyone here? im about ready to give up and have it towed to a shop…
