Hey Eric. First off, wanted to thank you for that video you made on replacing Honda Captive Rotors a couple years back. Saved me a pile of money! Anyway, a couple ideas to throw at you. One: Video talking about the different kinds of brake pads. Advantages and disadvantages of each kind, etc. Two: Video showing how to measure and check if you need new brake pads. Thanks.

as a caveat to the prior post, i would suggest a tutorial on the various tolerances involved in brakes; i.e., run-out, thickness, and parallelism; how to know exactly ‘when’ to change brake pads or shoes, when a rotor or drum qualifies for machining, how to use a micrometer and dial indicator to take measurements…. and lastly, how to use a drum inside micrometer.

also, a brake line tutorial with how to cut and flare brake line and a discussion of master cylinders; the different types and some problems associated with them and how to overhaul them.

edit: now that i think about it, some of these topics are kinda advanced and would probably not be beneficial to the average DIY’er.

I had hoped to do a video on measuring tools at some point which would cover micrometers. I think your suggestion of a specific video on brakes is a good one. I’ll look for an opportunity in the future to put that together and see if I can make that happen.

          Thanks for the suggestion.
