      Hi body work expert people,

contemplating doing some body work by myself.
this is 1997 Ford Escort stock.
      Please see pics.

wondering how likely it would be to to pop up the bend around
the sharply round part of the brake light.

if need more or diff’t pics, please request.

understand wont come back to “like new” condition (or would/could?)
but would like to know if feasible to attempt or not for a DIY-er.

was thinking bend or pull with screw in body that area, maybe a few screws.
then fill in with body filler.

      Your time/read/inputs/advice much appreciated.

You said you’d be interested in doing some of the work yourself. From where I sit, I’d leave it alone and let a good professional shop do the entire job from start to finish.

          +1.
That section has multiple contours and most shops would probably just replace the panel instead of re-contouring it. Sure it could be done with the right selection of tools and dollies, but the labor involved wouldn’t be worth it. The straightening isn’t the only issue there either. Using the correct fillers and guide coat/primers, and having the expertise to use them properly. Then there is also the scuff on the lens, and finally, matching the paint.
