Living in Scotland Ive owned mainly European small engined cars as when I was a student I couldnt afford the insurance on US or JDM imports. My first car was a Seat Arosa whch I learned to drive in. 3 cylinder 1.0 litre engine and light as heck so it was very driveable around town and easy to reverse park. After university I got an Opel corsa 1.2
with 79 bhp and got the modifying bug. Check out the tin can exhausts:
Once I had a few years working behind me I felt the urge for some power. Vauxhall (branch of GM in uk) had released a track version of their new small hatchback, So I bought myself an ex-demo Corsa VXR 1.6 turbo 189bhp 192 ft-lbs torque:

These cars are very tuneable so I embarked on a long, often frustrating journey resulting in addition of:
A Remus aftermarket decat exhaust
Upgraded EDS intercooler
Uprated reciculation valve
Cool running thermostat
Forged Wossner piston and ZRP rods with ARP bolts
Subframe brace upgrade
Uprated fuel pump, injectors and Mass air flow meter.
Reconditioned turbo
Uprated Eibach Suspension
Uprated clutch and lightened billet flywheel
ECU remap to 254 bhp 290 ft-lbs torque 0-62 in 5.4 seconds top speed 160mphHere she is today, my favourite car
