cooling system issue 95 ram

      So I got the ram today its been sitting awhile but had this problem when it was parked. The temp gauge goes to almost overheating then comes back dowmnthe heater does not blow hot and the kower rad hose is cold upper is hot. The driver side heater hose is cold but passenger side isnhot. There isnt any leaks. Anyone have any ideas. I just replaced the t stat nothing changed.

        sounds like a clogged heater core. you can try flushing it. dont be surpise if the core starts to leak after a flush. recommend bleeding the cooling syst as well.

          I forgot to mention when stepping on the throttle you can hear a water rushing sound from glove box area.

                That’s a classic description of air in the cooling system. You can used the videos above to sort that out. BTW it’s a classic misconception that both radiator hoses should be hot. The upper carries the hot water from the engine to the radiator and the lower hose carries the cooled water back to the engine, normally. So the upper hose will be hot normally and the lower hose will be much cooler. Good luck.
