Cooling system help

Well my Daewoo broke down tonite. Bellowed smoke antifreeze spilled all over the street. I limped it home as it overheated 2 times (getting home on 2 quarts or water), by the time i got home it was smoking and gauge on H. Inspecting the Thermostat housing split in half. From what i get this is a common thing that happens on the Lanos. I just had the brake lines replaced how did they not notice this?

Anyway I am seeking help. Seems to be a simple repair 2 bolts holding the housing to the engine and 2 hoses to remove. The thermostat fell out (while removing bags i tied around to make it home) is the thermostat likely still ok? Do i have to bleed the cooling system (thanks to eric i know how to) or can i just add more antifreeze to the resivor (no rad cap) and just run the engine to cycle it through? Also Anything else i should check/replace due to the few seconds it overheated (let it cool down for 5 minutes before starting).

got car back but due to snow storm couldn’t verify they replaced the PCV hose. I was the Driver’s side not passenger side. Mistake on my part.

Here is the picture of the replaced PCV Hose:

Any idea what kind of hose this is? There is a kink in it (you can tell if you look closely) will this kink have a negitive impact? its not COMPLETE blocked by the kink but IS restricted.

You may be able to get a piece of heater hose to replace what you
            got.

Well so far so good the car seems to be running like a champ 🙂 i check the Coolant and it is still at the MAX mark so that’s a good sign. No bog down no rough idle no violent vibration so ill keep you posted.
