cooling fans

I have a 99 pontiac grand prix and my fans fome on with the ac but not to cool the car off . i check the relays and eveything . what could be the problem ?

well the radiator cooling fan will only come on when the engine reaches a certain temp,with the engine running accelerate the motor to about 2k rpm hold it for a while the radiator fan motor should come on shortly,does the car have a thermostat or has it been removed?and is it overheating?

diagram.If the fans work in ac mode,then its a control
issue.

yeah it has one and yes its been over heating .

check the wiring at the cts back

It could be the temperature sensor. I’m not sure but I think on that car the computer controls the fans based on the temperature sensor input. Since you know the fans CAN work don’t worry about that part of the circuit, look to the control side to save yourself some time.
