Hi everyone, just a quick question. Is it possibile to have a cooling fan switch which works but at a higher temperature than rated? I’ve tested it on a stove and it works, but the temperature gauge is in the red position before the fan kicks in. Yes, i’ve excluded other possibile causes like restricted flow and such; bypassing the fan switch does the trick.

      Thanks in advance.

The general rule of Murphy’s is that anything that can go wrong will go wrong sooner or later. This would apply to cooling fan switches.

Yes it is possible to have a faulty switch that will work that way. You might consider replacing it to see if that resolves the problem.

          Keep us posted.
