Cooling bubbling in over flow

i have a 95 acura integra every time I drive it it ends up over heating even tho I toped off the fluids. After I shut off the car I hear a bubbling coming from the overflow. When I go to top it off if I start the car with the cap off it shoots coolant like 6 feet in the air. I just replaced the radiator thermostat radiator cap upper hose. Every time I put coolant in I bleed the system so there is no air but it keeps pushing its way out but I’m not over heating all the time . It will say I am then shoot back down like there is an air bubble. When i start the car with the cap off i get alot of bubbles filled with smoke within 10 seconds of starting it .I also have like no power but I’m not sure if that because of this or that I have a bad tranny. Right now I don’t know what to do I have been told its a bad head gasket but I don’t know. If any one has had the same problem let me know what you did to fix it thanks

Fan won’t turn on but I have the condenser fan on all the time now. I don’t know about the timing and the cap was perfect before I got a new radiator last week

I have seen some pretty “Gummed Up” Radiators before causing a blockage that may cause it, but you say you got a new radiator and not just “Hoses and Thermostat.”. Even if the hoses and thermostat had been replaced, it could be a problem from inside the radiator itself..(maybe a defect in the new radiator?)
*The timing I mentioned is really more about Advance/Retarded timing that will cause excessive heat to build up.

I wouldnt worry about the cooling fans. The cooling fans in my Daewoo never run im thinking or manually overriding both fans so they turn on with the car but im not sure if that is a task i want to take on mainly because i dont know if the fan sensor of the fan itself is bad

Sorry to say mate but it sounds like a head gasket to me probably cracked right at a cylinder wall and the compression from the cylinder entering the cooling system so there is your air and the heat from the compression will cause it to smoke and bubble

block test to confirm a head gasket.

so i looked at the car again and this time i smelt the smoke and it smelt like gas so i guess that means i have to change the head gasket. has any one had luck with a sealer or something for temp use till i can afford to fix it and does any one know of an online parts place that has cheap prices but not crapy parts? thanks for your help everyone

The sealers do …. Work as they say but … They also cause more trouble such as blocking up coolant passages dripping into cylinders… They are really more trouble then they fix

try dumping in some oil stop leak in the engine and coolant stop leak into the expansion tank

Then get your wallet out. You will have more problems to pay to get fixed.

+1 on that!
I love most Lucas Oil products, but do not like “Any aka: Stop Leak” type fix it lubricants.
The best and only way to fix a problem is to just fix the problem…. save yourself the future headache.

y pay $2100 for a head gasket job when you can dump some Engine treatment into the oil for like under $10?

I understand believe me I do, I am as broke as the next person….
I suppose I should have explained a little better.:
I do believe it (“Fix It Lube’s”) have a place, I simply prefer not to use them if I can absolutely avoid it. If you have an old piece of …t, than by all means if it is financially not worth it…then put in the “Stop Leak” to get you “Maybe” another 1-2k miles down the road before “Poof!” than go ahead and give it a shot. I suppose I have become a little skeptical of that stuff over the years, sometimes I feel like they don’t really do anything at all and are just a waste of money and or a bigger headache waiting to happen. If it were a car I cared about and have every intention of fixing it… I think I would just park it and take a bus if possible, until it got fixed. Head gaskets and radiator systems will not fix themselves and no amount of “Stop Leak” is going to really “Fix it” either.

I don’t put much faith in the “quick fix” stuff you can add to stop leaks, etc. They might help for a few days/weeks but you will still need to repair the major issue. As far as a head gasket leak, how does your oil look? Most times you will see a milky, chocolate milk looking oil when a head gasket has failed. You may see it on the dipstick and/or in the engine block when you remove the oil filler cap.
