      Hey , my car uses a GM/ Delco specified coolant which is red/ orange , is there a difference between that and the green/blue coolant , or is it just a colour additive .

        There are lots of different formulations and colors these days,your best bet is to stick with what you know is right for your car.is not a great idea to mix propylene with ethylene coolants,and that is easy to do these days when you just go by color and not formulation.

          The car came with red coolant , I was kind of curious to know the difference , I’ll keep the red GM type as that what the service book recommends .

            Yes, there is a difference. If it has Dexcool in it, you should also put Dexcool in it. Mixing coolants isn’t a good idea. The only way to change coolants, is to remove all the old coolant from the system and start with new coolant.

              Yep that’s pretty much what the service manager at my local GM dealer said as well , and one of the technicians said it too , I like to get others opinion’s sometimes banana:
