A good friend of mine had the same problem with his 2005 Civic. He’s is super meticulous about his cars. He changes the oil every 6-7 thousand miles with Mobil 1. He regularly changes all the other fluids and so on. Car is immaculate._x000D_

Last year I had a similar experience with a generic thermostat that I put in at the same time as replacing the water pump. That new thermostat was sticking closed, causing overheating and the same kind of problems you seem to have. So, I would not assume

I say take a look at the cap and the thermostat. I would recommend swapping out the t-stat for an OEM one, a lot of cooling issues can be solved by putting in an OEM part (Subarus are particularly bad with this). Also, possibly testing or swapping out the

All kinds of things could do this, even something as simple as a defective reservoir cap not maintaining pressure. I would start with the basics. Eric did some great videos on coolant system diagnostics that are worth a look. If you go through those you w

The thermostat and radiator cap(you did say it was OE?), are both new. It’s probably best to advise on getting a Honda OE stat, BUT i

You should use an OEM Honda thermostat to replace the one from Autozone.

ANYTIME you have an overheat with a Honda the first thing to do is bleed the air from the cooling system ESPECIALLY if work has been done on the cooling system.

Anytime you want to test a thermostat get a small pot and boil (or almost boil) some water and dunk thermostat in there. Open = good. If it doesn’t = bad.
