converting from 4X4 to 2WD

I have a Chevy 4L80 in a 1994 4X4 suburban, and I’m soon attempting to put it in a 2wd truck. I’m just wondering what I’m gonna need to do to the trans to make it work? more towards the tail shaft of the trans. do i need to do anything beside the obvious removal of t-case?? I’m planning on pulling the 454ci, the trans and rear end and modifying it to go in a 1998 dodge dakota, stupid i know but if it works she’ll go like hell.

The transmission will have to come apart and have the output shaft changed. Now you have two options here, a bolt on yoke or slip yoke. Slip yoke sounds more like what you will be needing. Also need a tailhousing. Good luck,,keep us up to date on progress.
