G’day everyone,
My brother’s got a 2005 Holden (Opel) Vectra 3.2L CDX. When the engine is started cold, it runs for about 3 seconds and then stalls. After starting it up again, it will run rough for about 15 seconds, then run nicely. Engine doesn’t stall when starting once warm.
It’s been to the mechanic a couple of times for the issue; he says there’s a slight misfire, no codes and he can’t find what’s wrong. Coil packs were replaced 6 months ago, to fix a CEL for random misfires. Fuel pump may be getting weak; the car is noticeably more responsive with a full tank. Not sure if that’s a good indicator of a weak pump, just going by what a mechanic told me. Not sure if it is related to the stalling issue, just detailing everything wrong with the car.
Where should I be looking first? I have read through the troubleshooting website, but I haven’t been able to narrow it down yet. Any help would be much appreciated!
