on my 07 chevy uplander i am getting 3 codes. p0141, p0036, and p0054. i have erased them. but they have came back many times. some times pending, sometimes confirmed. and some times only 2 will show up. sometimes only one. and sometimes all 3. these codes are for my downstream 02 sensors heater circuit. well according to erics recent video. i was hopeing i could replace the sensor and be alright. well of corse i could never get such luck. i put a new denso oe replacement sensor in and the second time i started it up the check engine light was right back on again. it makes me mad i wasted $70 i didnt have on a sensor i didnt need. but the only thing now is… what the hell is wrong!? what really sucks is i am over due for an inspection. but i know it wont pass with this going on… the only thing i can think of is the dealer mechanic messed something up. because these codes started coming up within 1 week (probably not even a week) of me taking it in and having an intake gasket replaced on this van. i had that done 1 day before my after market warranty was up… so dont you know now im not covered at all… not to mention this van only has 59k miles on it! i have had so many problems with this van it isnt even funny. intake gasket, lower control arm bushing, tie rod end, rear wiper motor, abs unit went bad, brake rotors warped on me 3 times (no its not how i drive..)….constant alignment issues… and like i said. this van doesnt even have 60 thousand miles on it!!!! i havent called the dealer back on this. but will tomorrow morning. i highly doubt they will even look at it for free. but i know they must have been the ones who caused this issue. i figure they either left something uplugged, or else have a wire pinched somewhere. or maybe routed a wire where it got melted… i have no confidence in the mechanic who did this job. seeing as when i checked the oil after they were done with the intake manifold gasket job. they overfilled my oil by 2 quarts… so if they cant even do that right…. and this is supposed to be the best dealership in the area… sure.. but seeing as how im broke, need to get my van inspected asap, before i get a damn ticket (which i REALLY cant afford) what would you guys say i should look for??? things are really packed in on this van too… really hard to see whats what…????

i am about 99% sure it was the correct sensor. as there are only 2 sensors on this van. one before the cat, and one after. and the codes are for the one after… so unless there is a fantom oxygen sensor hanging around somewhere. its the right one.
i am not totaly sure how to go about checking for 12 volts. would i just unplug the sensor, turn the key on, and then test between the two wire connections?
another thing that is funny is how eric says in his video about the heater circuit being the two wires that are th same color. well that isnt the case with these ones. because the original sensor had 2 brown wires. but they were both for different circuits.
another thing to mention. i have the old sensor setting here. and i first tested between the two brown wires, nothing. then i tested between the other two (cant remember color right off) and nothing there either. but when i test one brown wire, and one of the other wires i will get some resistence. between the one circuit its like only a few ohms. but when i test between the other circuit the ohms will start out being maybe around 5 ohm. but the longer i hold it there they will just keep climbing. i am not sure what to make of that… but even if that sensor was bad. i put a new one in and have the same issue… so i am inclined to think the sensor was not the issue. unless SOMEHOW i bought a brand new one that was also bad.
i am not sure what fuses to look at… would i just have to check all of them??
also before anyone asks. no its not plugged in wrong. there is one 1 way to plug it in.
what i really need is a wiring diagram. so i can trace the wire for this thing. because i know that has to be the problem. i am really bad at electrical issues… so you can imagine how much i hate having to mess with new cars…..
To me it sounds like you need to track down a wiring diagram to find out what those wires go to and do a proper testing of the circuit. I showed how to do a resistance check on the heater circuit in the video NOT a voltage check. If the heater element in the O2 sensor I was testing tested good I would then check for feed voltage at the connector going to it when I turned the key on. You can likely find a wiring diagram here.
