I heard that bypassing a clutch safety switch is not advisable. However, what about installing a more accessible switch that can be turned on by simply turning on a switch by hand. I would say flipping a switch from underneath the dash by hand. Installing a switch that is more accessible by hand might be more feasible, and just as safe. On/Off switch by hand, Yes or No? I currently own a 1994 Nissan pickup that has the switch under the clutch, and is really hard to turn on.

I would suggest trying to adjust the factory clutch safety switch for proper operation.
Or perhaps replacing it if it proves to be faulty.
        Just a thought here..
If the manufacturer decided not to install a more accessible switch, why would you believe it to be a better idea?

The point of having the clutch safety switch under the clutch is so that you must push in the clutch to start the vehicle. If you bypassed this to a switch in which you no longer needed to press the clutch in then it would still be unsafe. While you certainly can bypass the switch I would advise as the other poster stated and fix whatever problem you are having with the clutch safety switch.

The D21 versions of Nissan pickups were notorious for having the clutch interlock relay being intermittent or failing. The relay is in the electrical box under the hood. I had a 93 that had that issue. Keep the clutch interlock where it is, it is an important safety feature.

I had a Datsun 620 truck that had no clutch switch. Myself I never had issues. The kid who borrowed it from me ran into a building however. I don’t recommend bypassing it.
