It does it bad in 1st and reverse when leaving from a stand-still. The system isn’t leaking any fluid and it’s fine once I’m going but I could still tell it wants to stick. Sometimes when it does end up staying to the floor the car won’t get out of gear.

I’ve purchased a new clutch master and slave cylinder but once I spoke to my girlfriends dad who’s a heavy duty mechanic he mentioned it might be the pressure plate and not the hydraulics considering it’s worse in 1st and reverse. Car is a ’91 RX7.

Does it sound more like a transmission/clutch issue or could it actually be the hydraulics?

You need to adjust the clutch pedal instead to change the clutch.

That says cable operated while mine is hydraulic. But how would the pedal just decide to adjust itself one morning and act like that.

You might need to change your hydrolic fluid ti put out the system the impurities. If It’s happens again, you need to find the problem as the hyprolic clutch.

have you tried bleeding the system? The slave could
              be hanging up.

Sounds like a clutch master to me. If you change it then just do the slave at the same time, if there’s junk in the system then it will be through the whole system so might as well do both the parts that wear out over time.

Hey, everyone, little update. I changed the master and slave cylinders and the clutch works better than it ever has. The clutch use to engage closer to the floor now it engages closer to the top. I was told it’s supposed to be closer to the top. So I’m assuming these needed to be replaced ever since I bought the car. The clutch pedal still has enough freeplay.

Just the opposite. The clutch should engage closer to the floor when it’s correctly adjusted. I suspect you don’t have your free play set correctly on the clutch master. This can actually wear out your clutch prematurely. You might want to watch both of these videos that have already been posted as they address both of these issues.
