      Hi,

I own a Honda Civic Type R 2009 Euro model. The car is immense to drive and can’t fault it in any way except that the clutch pedal clicks when you depress and release it. It doesn’t stick and it doesn’t affect the way the car drives so far but it is quite audible and palpable through my foot on each gear change. Occasionally the car finds it tricky to slip into 3rd gear and will bounce out of it, as if the synchomesh isnt lining up properly.

I was wondering if this is a known problem on the K-series or other models? More importantly should I be concerned? The car in under warranty at present and from past experience with dealerships in the UK it can be difficult to get even blatant problems fixed

      Thanks in advance

      Tony

If the clutch sticks. Then there is something wrong.
The problem will not get any better.I would try to
get it fixed under the warranty.

This is very common on the USA K series models, the problem is in the clutch master cylinder. They are a bitch to change. You can depress the clutch pedal slightly and spray some lithium grease into the bore of the clutch master from the inside of the car. This will temporarily fix your problem.

Sometimes this is caused by the clutch pedal return spring. You can sometimes remove it and lubricate the ends and it will go away for a while. It is common for the 3rd gear syncros to go out as well. That problem is likely unrelated to the clutch pedal sticking. If you don’t find issue with the return spring then I would look to the clutch master as suggested.
