Clutch not disengaging

Hi Eric,

I have a 2004 Honda accord 4 cylinder 2.4l sedan. My clutch did not disengage when I was going to work yesterday. I could not change gears so luckily I pulled into a gas station and turned off the car, When I restarted the car the clutch was ok and after work on my way home it seemed ok. Is the clutch going bad?

How many miles on the clutch? If the clutch did not
disengage. You may have hydraulic failure happening.
Check the clutch reservoir fluid. see if this link helps.

Hi,

There is 177,000 miles on the clutch. The fluid level in the reservoir is ok and I could not see any leaks around the master cylinder or slave cylinder.

Master cylinder can leak internally. Clutch master cylinder problems normally start like when you press clutch pedal to fully bottom. Normally you can tell by pushing pedal to floor lifting it up by 1…2cm or about half inch pushing pedal to floor and doing this like ten times.
