Hi guys.
I’m currently having a noise somewhere in the steering components that can only be heard when wiggling the steering back and forth with the engine off, which means no power steering.
I guess more resistance makes the noise more noticeable since I can hear it too when driving on bad bumpy roads.I’ve replaced the outer tie rod ends and did an alignment.
Noise was there before part replacement and after.
However, noise was much louder and noticeable after tie rod replacement and before alignment.
Inner tie rods were inspected, very tight, no play when holding it while someone else wiggles the steering wheel. Jacking up the car, grabbing and moving the wheel doesn’t show any play. The four shock/strut have already been replaced along with the strut bearings.
Ball joint, lower control arm bushing replaced. My car is a Honda Civic 2004 DX Manual transmission.
Help would be very appreciated
Thank!
