Clicking Noise when brakes is applied

Nissan Altima 2002 SE.

Today my wife heard a noise which she describes as clicking when she applied the brakes while driving, and it is felt in the brake pedal and the gear shifter knob.

I’m finding information relating to the shift lock solenoid which makes a clicking noise, and said to be normal but I don’t know if this information is correct.

Today is the first time she has heard this noise…

Normal or Something is wrong?
