      Hello guys,

I have a Toyota Corolla HB E12 facelift 110 VVTi Sol 1.6l, UK parts from 2005.

I’m looking for the origin of a low noise which sounds like a “clack”, which occurs only when the car starts to move in the first gear, and when the clutch pedal is almost fully released.
Sometimes I hear this noise also accelerating harder in the second gear… but almost every time when I start to move upward on a slope…

It also depends on how I release the clutch pedal.

I wonder if this is a problem with the clutch or with the gearbox, or another part which is closely connected to the clutch pedal?
It’s sounds like something which is partially stucked, and then released when the car starts… or as if a faulty spring which withdrew later…

Maybe it’s just need to grease something… but what?

It’s not the specific ABS noise which occurs only when we move for the first time, after the engine is started.
All the silent blocks, engine an gearbox fixations seems to be OK, and also all mechanical parts related to the direction or suspension were already checked or partially changed (if they had even a small shifting).

I read somewhere, that it could be also a noise coming from the breaks, pads or brackets, (however strange at every start)?

Thank you in advance for your kind help or any idea.

Maybe your transmission is a bit loose or not mounted properly.

            Hello,

            Thank for your answers.

The motor and gearbox mounts seems to be OK (the guys have tried to force these places with some kind of iron bar)…

The persons who are verified the car told me that it’s nothing shifting on the transmission (they have only shake the different parts everywhere). But, I wonder if manually is it possible to feel such a shifting, or only if the car is moving? They didn’t see any leak neither, and the bellows semms right.

One of the technicians also lifted the car (so the wheels didn’t touch the ground) and tried to simulate a starting in the 1st gear (the wheels were spinning in the air), but in this case I didn’t hear anything… So I think that this low “clack” sound occurs only when the engine force moving the car onward on the ground.

Please tell me, which is the transmission piece that you have suggested to verify among these two photos (or if neither of them, then please show me the right image).

            Thanks a lot.
