Civic crank no start

Replaced the steering column on my civic coupe, using my original ignition switch the car wont start just cranks, check connections, and fuses all seems ok, I’m thinking its something do to with the immobiliser because I had to disconnect the ignition switch.

However the green key on the dash isn’t solid or flashing its just acting like normal coming on for a second when the keys first put in and then blinking for a second after removing the key.

Does anyone have any ideas what can I do ?

      Thanks

Then it has to be something with that
column.its the only thing that changed.
            recheck your work.

The threads where stripped so couldn’t tighten down the steering wheel.

As I said all connections and fuses are fine… The first time I tired to start the car it started but died straight away, now it just cranks without starting..

If that ignition switch was disconnected you may need to reset something to get the security working again. This is where a factory service manual and/or a good scanner with bi directional control(not a code reader) might be nice.

check the wires themselves at the ignition
switch. The switch itself may have a problem
check to see if you have spark and fuel.

It might just be as simple as a bad ignition switch. To be specific the electrical part of the ignition switch. Honda’s of that vintage are famous for this. You can test this theory the next time you try to start the car. If the engine will start and then stall when you let go of the key then hold the key toward the crank position but don’t crank the engine. If it continues to run then replace the electrical portion of the ignition switch.

I actually fixed, not sure what the problem was, I just pulled every single fuse to make 100% sure they were all good, they were, and then checked all other connections tried to start it and it started 🙂 Back to starting first time every time again.

Thanks for the help everyone 🙂

                          thanks for the update.
